Accessibility

This statement was last updated on 1 February 2023, tested on 1 February 2023 and is reviewed at least once a year.

Commitment to accessibility

As an agency who provide freelance services to web designers and developers on website accessibility, we need to practice what we preach. OneStopVA is committed to making its website accessible to ensure that it is usable by everybody, regardless of age or disability.

We aim for conformance and have gone to great lengths to make the website compliant with “Web Content Accessibility” Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA with good usability practices.

Using Our Site

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.

This means that you can:

  • Change contrast levels
  • Zoom in up to 400% without text spilling off the screen
  • The text will reflow in a single column when you change the size of your browser window
  • Navigate the website using just a keyboard

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

Known Limitations

Whilst we try to maintain a high standard of accessibility on our website, there are some known limitations. These are documented below.

  • Some videos may not have captions
  • We do not provide audio descriptions for videos

We are in the process of auditing the website and fixing issues that we may find, some of which include issues with the site navigation and some third-party forms, which are manually coded to make them accessible.

Third-party content and functionality

Sections of our website use services or applications provided by third party companies, not all of which are fully compliant with the standards reached across the rest of our website. This includes certain features within our Video Player and forms for data capture.

We have worked hard with these providers, and continue to do so, to drive up accessibility standards of these services or applications, ultimately – and most importantly – to improve the overall user experience of our website.

Non-accessible Content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons. Known elements within the website do not conform to 1.3.1 and 4.1.2 making it difficult for assistive technology to convey information successfully.

  • We aim to add correct aria labelling to improve how assistive technology can convey the information by 01/06/2023

Known elements on smaller screens do not conform to 1.4.12: AA and 1.4.4: AA making it difficult for the visually impaired to read.

  • We aim to fix this with changes to the styling and layout by 01/06/2023

Elements included from remote sources fail to comply with 2.1.1: A and 4.1.2.

  • We are looking to better these solutions with an ongoing effort.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

Our accessibility journey is continuing. We perform periodic ongoing manual accessibility tests and testing with assistive technology. Whenever we get feedback from native users of assistive technology, we respond promptly and address any issues.
